If you or a family member work for Providence Health or any of its subsidiaries, you may be eligible to join. Members and staff of partner associations are also eligible. Once you’re a member, your family member (i.e. husband, father, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, domestic partner, and grandparents) can join. And you can stay as long as you like – even if you leave the Providence, UDW, EyeHealth Northwest, or The Portland Clinic, LLP network.

In 1962, a group of healthcare workers at a St. Vincent Hospital in Southwest Portland, Oregon, established an employee credit union. Today, PFCU doesn’t just serve Providence employees and their immediate families in Oregon, Washington, California, Montana, Texas, Nevada, and Alaska. In 2022, we expanded to serve health care professionals, home care workers, and childcare providers in California as their new banking partner for United Domestic Workers (UDW Labor Union), a nonprofit organization based in San Diego, California. UDW provides advocacy and support to more than 74,000 members.
We’re one of the largest credit unions in the United States that serves employees and their families in the healthcare industry. But our proudest achievement is helping our members live well, reach their goals, and thrive through all of life’s milestones.Learn more about PFCU history
See The Benefits
As a not-for-profit credit union, we don’t have shareholders. Instead, we return profits made to our members through inclusive accounts, low loan rates, and (free) financial education.
We design our services with caregivers and care workers in mind, but we also deliver all the technology that large institutions offer. Like time-saving features and conveniences such as online banking, mobile banking, and 120,000+ surcharge-free ATMs you may not expect from a place where they know you by name.
At PFCU your financial well-being is a priority. One of the most important things we do is to connect you with valuable resources and free tools, as well as free financial counseling to help you solve the money questions of life.
