Serving on the Board

Board Elections Now Open to Vote!

Providence Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by members.  Directors serving on the Board are members themselves. From March 1st to 31st, 2018 primary members will be able to vote to elect Providence FCU Directors via secure website or by phone. We have partnered with an independent third party to conduct the election and provide the final results, which protects the integrity of this important process.

Your vote is important! Please visit or call 1.877.273.4705 on March 1st through the 31st to vote. This number also works to order a paper ballot vote to be mailed to your address.

Additionally, as a member of Providence FCU, you are cordially invited to attend our 55th Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 26th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at POP II Building Conference Room 1B – 1D (4340 NE Halsey Street, Portland, OR). Together we will review our successes and results in 2017, discuss our financial reports, and share our vision for 2018. All attendees will enjoy desserts, take home a free gift, and have a chance to win incredible door prizes.

Board of Directors Nomination Deadline has Passed

The deadline for candidates to be nominated for the credit union's 2018 board elections by the Board Nominating Committee has now passed. The slate of 2018 candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee will be posted soon.

However, though the 2018 nominations from the nominating committee have closed, you may also place yourself on the 2018 ballot by collecting the signatures of 1% of the credit union's members (inquire for exact number). Eligible member signatures on the nomination petition must be from Providence FCU members who are at least 18 years of age and who are primary owners of a membership share with Providence FCU. The necessary petition forms can be picked up at Providence FCU’s Milwaukie location or downloaded here. Completed petitions with the requisite signatures must be returned by 4PM on Friday, February 17, 2018.  All nominees (including those nominated by the Nominating Committee and those nominated by petition) will be listed on the ballot distributed at the annual meeting in April and the results announced at the end of the meeting.

To Volunteer or Be Considered for Future Nominations

If you would like to be considered for next year's elections or other volunteer opportunities, we would still like to hear from you. While it is infrequent, there are occasions where an opening on the Board of Directors occurs between annual elections and the nominating committee will review possible candidates on file for appointment until the next annual election. Also, there are a variety of volunteer committees that contribute to the success and leadership of Providence FCU (including our Supervisory Committee and periodic community focus groups).

If you are interested in using your skills to support your credit union as a volunteer, simply download the 2018 Volunteer Packet, then complete the application and mail it with your resume back to the Board Nominating Committee. Prospective nominees must be a member of Providence Federal Credit Union, at least 18 years old, and return the completed volunteer application to the Nominating Committee. The nominating committee will collect applications for next year's (2019) board nominations until early December 2018.

If you have any questions about this process or the forms, you may email the Nominating Committee, or you can write us at:
