2018 Providence Federal Credit Union Camp Erin | 8.11.2018
Camp Erin is a weekend overnight camp for children and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. At Camp Erin, kids have an opportunity to be around other kids who have experienced similar losses. They participate in fun, traditional camp activities (swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, games, campfires, and more) while gaining a better understanding of their own grief.
Camp Erin is facilitated by professional bereavement staff of Providence Hospice and specially-trained volunteers. Staff and volunteers lead grief activities and sharing times, supervise recreation, and provide support to campers throughout the weekend. We have a ratio of 1 adult for every 2 campers. A registered nurse is available on-site at all times to dispense medications and respond to any medical concerns which may arise.
Camp Erin is offered free of charge to all families. Camp Erin Portland is funded by the generous support of Providence Hospice, Providence Foundations, The Moyer Foundation, and many individuals and businesses in the community who donate their time and resources to Camp Erin.
